One of two fake abortion clinics on the same street as the REAL center, the EMW’s Women Center here in downtown Louisville. This one is right next door to the actual clinic and this place is seriously a nightmarish hell-hole for any unsuspecting women tricked by the anti’s. They assure you this this the abortion clinic, they get you inside, and then offer you food and drink—which of course, means that once you realize your mistake, you can’t run next door and catch your actual appointment, since you need to fast.
Women have come out of this building crying, and on a few rare occasions, without their pants. They take you to a back room for an ultrasound, have you remove your pants, and then begin lecturing you on the sins of aborting. They do not give you back your pants until you have listened, and a few women tricked this far refused to listen and stormed out furious, ashamed, and in their underwear.
This is the anti-choice agenda—lying, tricking, shaming, and embarrassing women to the brink of hysterics in hopes that she carry the pregnancy to term. Forcing her, through lies and manipulation, to do with her body what THEY want, not what is best for her.
There is no “choice” at the Louisville “Women’s Choice” clinics. Just abuse, shame, and bigots who would rather undress a woman to make her feel vulnerable and then explain how awful of a person she is than let her make HER. CHOICE.

I reblogged this at first without checking if it was legit but it turns out it is legit and people need to be warned. A simple google search is all the evidence you need.

And as a general rule: if the place says “crisis pregnancy center” or anything similar, IT IS A TRICK. Real women’s health clinics are typically called “women’s health clinics”. They do not specialize in ONLY pregnancy, because a uterus owner has more health concerns than just that uterus. Even if you get past the name, Planned Parenthood’s full description is as a health clinic, because they screen or refer to physicians who screen for cancers and diseases, as well as educate about pregnancy (yes, they can and do explain what to expect throughout pregnancy to new mothers who want their pregnancies. My mother found her Lamaze class through a PP.)
Crisis pregnancy centers cannot call themselves “clinics” because they do not actually offer licensed medical care. If they try to use “clinic”, remember that ethical doctors would never use “crisis” in their practice’s name; a crisis is a difficult choice or situation, often with moral implications (i.e.: “crisis of faith”, “financial crisis”, “mid-life crisis”, etc.) It has nothing to do with receiving medical treatment. No one with a broken leg is having a crisis; they’re having a medical emergency. Words matter.

HOLY FUCK! I have one of those Crisis Pregnancy Centers nearby!! Signal Boost. Thanks for the info!

It disgusts me that these places are actually legal to operate.

flipping fucking what?? This shit is legal?? holding your pants hostage must fall under some penalty CMON *FOAMS AT THE MOUTH*

Neo-Nazis were also pioneering a strategy they called “ghost skins,” which are attempts by right-wing extremists to keep quiet about their hateful views so as to blend into society and covertly advance their causes. “One white supremacist group has reportedly encouraged ghost skins to seek positions in law enforcement for the capability of alerting skinhead crews of pending investigative action against them,” says the report.

Another report released the same month revealed more about what it calls this “fascist path of stealth.” A ghost skin deliberately avoids shaving his head, wearing boots or braces, or anything that identifies his Nazi origins. “We strive to blend into society to be unrecognizable to the Jewish enemy,” one white-supremacist website is helpfully quoted as explaining. Prospective ghost skins are encouraged to join the military and receive training that can be passed on to other Nazis.

Right-wing terror is real, Salon.com  (via alexeikaramazov)

they also join the work force. live in the suburbs and generally do their best to make life hard for people that they hate. Imagine this person works in HR. Imagine they work in healthcare. Imagine they are a social worker.

Another reason why people who joke about being Nazis or WS in order to be edgy are making life harder for targeted people. If you think it’s funny to be confused for a Nazi, you are worthless scum.

so basically white supremacists encourage each other to  gain positions of power where they can abuse, murder, and torture non-Aryans. why are people so surprised that legislative groups like the American Legislative Exchange Council (responsible for stand your ground laws, immigration laws like SB 1070, and the expansion of the private prison/immigration detention industrial complex) have connections to explicit white supremacists??

(via third-worlding)

We need to seriously start looking into shit like this, something this revealing of those who say they’re here to serve and protect ought to be in the million + notes cause it would explain why so many white cops are so trigger happy and ready to maim people of color.

Threw the old edition of A World Without Bosses out and wrote a new one from the ground up (and it has nice new fonts too!). A solid 12 page introduction to work under capitalism, class-collaborationist unions, revolutionary unions, and the IWW, written as accessibly as possible for people who have never ever read a single anticapitalist thing ever. (The above pages are not, of course, the whole zine, but just the first page of each section.)

The world’s most viewed TED Talk. In GIFs!

I just can’t reblog this enough. If I filled up my tumblr with just this it wouldn’t be enough. Most of all I wish I could tell my immediate family about this because they perpetuate me growing out of creativity -.-

If you haven’t seen this TED Talk, I highly recommend it.

One of the things I’ve really focused on as a parent is making sure my kids know that making lots of mistakes is the best way to learn something new.  If you get something on the first try it might be exciting, but you haven’t really learned anything.  This is definitely something I was not taught as a child, unfortunately, which made me averse to trying anything new out of a fear of failure.  It’s taken me a long time to retrain my thoughts to not take errors as huge blows to my self-confidence.

My kids deserve better.  All kids deserve better.  ~JJ

So tumblr

We’ve been complaining on here about capitalism and all its ills for a while now. Can we agree on a date to actually get off the internet and do something about it?

We have this medium of mass communication (and thereby the potential for mass action) and all we ever do is talk

Natasha Lennard — Cops who beat homeless man to death walk free
Kelly Thomas, schizophrenic and homeless, cried for his dad as he was beaten. His assaulters were found not guilty
Jan. 13 2014
Kelly Thomas, a homeless man who suffered from schizophrenia, died in hospital in 2011. He had beaten, tasered and kicked to death by cops from the Fullerton County Police Department while begging for mercy. The sickening incident of police brutality was caught by a surveillance camera.
On Monday, three former police officers (removed from the force following the incident) walked free: Two were found “not guilty” of murder by a jury while charges against a third officer were then dropped. Those familiar with the case have reacted with disgust at the impunity.
We know from surveillance footage that former Fullerton officers Manuel Ramos and Joseph Wolfe and former Cpl. Jay Cicinelli gave the 37-year-old, unarmed, mentally ill man confusing orders that he could not follow. We know that he tried. He cried out “I’m trying,” “I’m sorry.” We saw some of the six officers involved in the incident stretch Thomas’ arms behind him until he cried out in pain. We heard Thomas scream “Dad! Dad!” 30 times as he was lying on the ground gasping. We saw that the beating continued. Officer Ramos said to Thomas, “Now see my fists? They are getting ready to fuck you up.” A graphic (warning) image of Thomas’ face following the beating surfaced on line and can be seen here.
But a jury has ruled these men not guilty of murder.
As the verdict was read Monday, NBC reported, the victim’s father Ron (himself a former Fullerton PD deputy) “burst into tears, kicking or stomping his foot.”  ”Where do we really find justice any more in our justice system? It has been proven right here today that they will get away with it. They will get away with it,” Thomas’ father said.
And it indeed seems the courts will provide no justice here at all. And so what is left to say, except: No justice, no peace.

This fucking sickens me.
